The music of Big Mô
and the Mau-Mau is intended as a hymn to a universal, brotherly society,
wich irremediably rejects "the system".
Big Mô lives far from
Africa but his words & sounds fly to the rescue of his homeland. A
way as effective as any other to carry on the fight.
Born in Casamance (Senegal)
and resident in France since 1984.
A reggae fan since he was
8 years hold, writer, composer and performer, he questions in plain language
human nature and its excesses, the sickness of its souls and conscience,
playing a music wich he calls Reggae-Ragga-Roots and "N'DIAXASS*"
lifting many of his rhytms from jazz, m'balax or even funk and all positive
feelings to make good vibrations.
As you may guessed, Big Mô
is fond of mixing things up, even in his lyrics, wich switch back and forth
between Wolof, English, Diola, and French, like any self respecting citizen
of the world.
* the real and original african (wolof) name of
Patchwork : a musical patchwork.
